Ramp to the ferry
We leave the autobahn in Trento and direct to Padova. Driving the country is more interesting plus we save on autobahn fees, and there are enough signposts for Venice. We arrive the port of Venice at about noon. There is very many motorhomes at the terminal already. Today is the first day that camping on board is offered. At 15:00 we are waved on board, we even get a pitch along the ship's side, with a view to the Mediterranean.
The last vehicles enter the ferry
The ferry is scheduled to leave at 18:00 but still more trucks and cars come up. There is just one truck too many and has to reverse from the ferry.
Canale Grande
We ship along Venice with a nice view at the Marcus Square. Frozen from the breeze we walk into the restaurant. The choices are a little low, no green beans for Annette, but the prices are steep indeed.
Marcus Square
One last moonlit walk on the deck before we cocoon in our motorhome. The sea is extremely calm like we have never experienced before so that the ferry almost silently glides on the water.
